CAPACITY BUILDING SESSION FOR JOHOR'S 16 LOCAL COUNCILS (20 Jan 2026)

The Introduction to Smart City Implementation System workshop for all the 16 Local Councils in Johor State was designed to equip participants with a structured and practical understanding of how to systematically implement smart city programs through an integrated program management approach.
The session introduced the 7-Step Smart City framework, emphasising governance, innovation hubs, data management, funding models, and public-private collaboration as critical enablers for effective delivery.
Participants were strengthen their implementation management capabilities, enhance data-driven decision-making including AI integration, and learn how to translate strategic policy aspirations into coordinated downstream projects and activities.
Ultimately, the workshop aimed to build leadership confidence among local council implementers to drive holistic, inclusive, and sustainable smart city delivery across Johor.
