At ASUF 2025 – ASEAN Sustainable Urbanisation Forum Kuala Lumpur, held in conjunction with the ASEAN Governors and Mayors Forum (MGMAC 2025), Smart Cities Program Alliance (SCPA) participated as a Strategic Partner to the organisers, delivering a leadership session on the 7-Step Smart City Program Management Framework and its structured talent certification pathway.
The session, led by Datuk Nik Ahmad Faizul and joined by use-case city leaders from DBKU and MPBP, emphasised the importance of systemising smart city delivery through governance, innovation hubs, delivery offices, data management and integrated operations centres (IOC).
Beyond technology, SCPA highlighted the need to institutionalise program management practices and develop capable city leaders through structured playbooks, tools and tiered certification—strengthening ASEAN cities’ ability to move from isolated projects towards integrated, program-driven and impact-oriented smart city systems.
