Integrated Operations Centres (IOCs) remain one of the most challenging components of smart city implementation because cities often struggle with fragmented data systems, siloed agency operations, unclear governance structures, high capital and operational costs, and difficulty sustaining long-term value beyond surveillance functions.
This training directly addresses these challenges by equipping city leaders with a structured, end-to-end approach to planning, designing, and sustaining an IOC — from understanding global benchmarks and strategic drivers, to building a locally contextualised IOC framework, defining service domains, and enabling inter-agency integration.
The course further strengthens implementation success through practical solutions in financial sustainability modelling, data governance, interoperability, and phased operationalisation, ultimately enabling participants to design and deliver a future-ready, resilient, and financially sustainable IOC that supports whole-of-city operations and crisis readiness.
